Bangarra back treading the Terrain

Sydney-based Bangarra Dance Theatre company will tour regional Western Australia and South Australia in coming weeks with its production, Terrain.

Terrain explores the connection between Aboriginal people and the land and was choreographed by Frances Rings.

The company will perform shows across nine regional centres from now until November 19.

As part of the tour, Bangarra will visit Marree in SA, a short distance from Lake Eyre, where they will perform a free community performance

The company will also host dance and educational workshops as part of the tour.

Bangarra first premiered Terrain in 2012.

The WA tour will take in Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (October 22), Queens Park Theatre in Geraldton (October 26) and Goldfields Arts Centre in Kalgoorlie (October 29).

In SA, Bangarra will perform at the Middleback Theatre in Whyalla (November 8), Northern Festival Theatre at Port Pirie (November 11), the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre in Mt Gambier (November 15) and the Chaffey Theatre in Renmark (November 19).
